ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Katie, and I work with counsellors who are starting out in private practice (or looking to grow) and want a bespoke website that feels like them - authentic, professional, and something they can be proud of.
I spent many years working for tech companies, mainly testing software, which gave me an amazing eye for detail and a love of spotting what works (and what doesn’t!) - something that’s proved very useful when testing new websites!
For the past decade, I’ve worked for a teenage mental health charity here in London, looking after their apps and websites.
That role gave me a real mix of mental health understanding and technical know-how - learning how to communicate clearly with people who are looking for support, and how to make sure their online experience feels calm and reassuring.
I’ve always loved design and creativity, and over time I realised I was missing that side of things in my work.
Then a good friend started her counselling practice.
She'd cobbled together a basic website, but between managing appointments, writing notes, handling insurance, and the countless other small business tasks that pile up, she had no time to make it feel right. More importantly, she couldn't make it truly reflect who she was as a therapist - that authentic voice that her clients needed to hear.
So I said, “I’ll help!”
Working with her showed me something I hadn't fully appreciated: counsellors need websites that do more than exist. They need sites that genuinely reflect their practice, that speak directly to the clients they want to help, that feel like an extension of the care they provide. And most counsellors, already stretched thin by the demands of starting or growing a practice, simply don't have the time, technical knowledge, or design experience to create that themselves.
That's why I started Lancha.
When I’m not designing websites, you’ll probably find me in the garden (I love garden design and the creativity it brings) or practising Pilates (I’m a recent convert). I live just outside London, near a beautiful old park established by Henry VIII, with my two teenage kids who keep life lively.
And I’m a huge believer in the power of counselling and therapy - it’s one of the reasons I love working with counsellors so much.
If you’re ready to create a website that feels genuinely you, one that helps your clients feel seen and confident reaching out, I’d love to help.
