YOUR QUESTIONS

  • I chose Squarespace because it’s easy to use, flexible and ideal for small business owners who want a site that looks professional and that they can also maintain themselves. They also have amazing 24/7 support!

I work exclusively with Squarespace; that way, I know it inside out.

  • You can build a website yourself, but it often ends up taking far more time and energy than expected. Most counsellors I work with start out trying to do it themselves, then realise how stressful and overwhelming it can feel alongside everything else involved in setting up a practice.

By working with a designer, you get more than just a nice-looking site - you get guidance, structure, and a calm, supportive process that takes the tech headaches away.

  • Absolutely! You’ll own your website completely, and I design it so that it’s easy for you to update it yourself. I’ll guide you through the Squarespace editor and show you how to make simple changes.

  • I don’t charge any additional fees once your website design package is paid in full.

Squarespace charges an ongoing fee for their hosting plans, and for domains if purchased from them. I would recommend the Core package - see Squarespace’s current pricing.

Domains usually cost around £15 per year.

  • I highly recommend investing in a couple of high-quality headshots for your website, as this helps build trust and connection with potential clients.

If you don’t yet have branding in place, I recommend adding my Brand Styling package. It creates a simple, cohesive visual identity for your website, including colours, fonts, a typeset logo, and overall direction.

There are a few legal essentials every website needs. I can’t create these documents for you, but I’ll make sure your website has space for them and point you in the right direction so your site stays compliant:

    • Privacy Policy – explains how you handle personal information from visitors or clients

    • Cookie Policy – required if your site uses cookies for analytics, forms, or tracking

    • Terms & Conditions – not legally required, but recommended to outline how your services can be used

There may also be additional costs if you require extra pages, advanced functionality, copywriting support, or third-party subscriptions.

  • Before we start building your website, I’ll need a few key things from you:

All your content - this includes the text for each page of your site (About, Services, Contact, etc.).

Any images you’d like to use - whether your own photos or carefully chosen stock images.

Your branding elements - such as logo, colours, and fonts. If you don’t yet have these in place, my Brand Styling package can create a simple, cohesive visual identity before we begin.

Having everything ready at the start makes the design process smooth and helps your website launch efficiently. Don’t worry, I’ll guide you on exactly what’s needed and share tips for preparing your content so it feels polished, professional, and true to your practice.

  • To make sure your website build goes smoothly, I need all your content and images ready before we begin. If they’re not ready at the scheduled start date, we would need to reschedule for the next available design slot, as I only work with one client at a time.

This ensures each project gets my full attention, and your website can be completed efficiently and to the highest standard. Don’t worry, I’ll provide guidance on what you need so you can have everything prepared in plenty of time.

  • You (or your copywriter) are responsible for the content on your site.

Don’t worry, I’ll give you a comprehensive guide, complete with prompts and examples, to help you plan your content.

I’m also here to guide you and do some light editing to support you.

  • You won’t need to be available 24/7, but your input is important to make sure your website turns out just right. During the build month, you’ll need to:

    • Join a consultation call at the start to discuss your vision and goals

    • Respond to a few queries as I work on the design

    • Review the homepage and provide feedback

    • Have a few days to request any changes to the design (unlimited within that window!)

    • Be available for the handover session, where I show you how to manage your site

Being reasonably available ensures the project flows smoothly and your website is delivered on time, without feeling rushed or stressful.

  • You can pay in full upfront, or pay in two instalments, one month apart. We’ll need to receive the full payment before we handover your website to you.

Complete the form below, and I’ll respond as soon as possible, usually within 1-2 working days.
